MEET THE ARTIST: NICOLE WANG - EYEBROW NANOBLADING

Image
EYEBROW NANOBLADING     Meet Nicole Wang!  Nicole is a savvy savant whose hand skills are everything you want in an eyebrow professional. I had the pleasure of getting my eyebrows nanobladed by Nicole.  Nanoblading, a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure, uses a tattoo gun and cosmetic tattoo ink to create a natural eyebrow hair stroke. Nano brows can last anywhere from 2 - 3 years. It took me a long time searching for the right cosmetic procedure for enhancing my brows. Ombre and Microblading were enticing but I still wanted something that looked completely natural. Then I stumbled across Nicole from a posted ad for services. I did not know about Nanoblading before reaching out to her. She posted pictures of amazing-looking clients! She had me in her cosmetic chair without hesitations.  In the initial appointment, Nicole explained the process, created my eyebrow shape and nanobladed my brows. After the initial procedure, I had a touch-up appointment 3 weeks l...

Skin Bumps - Investigating the Unknown

Image
Anytime my children fall ill, I don’t hesitate to get professional medical health opinions. In this world of frightening diseases, even the most non-threatening, if left unchecked, can have consequences. So when my son developed unusual skin lesions, I had to act fast. Over the past few months, my son developed what looked to be a wart where his hairline meets his forehead. After visiting the doctor, he was unsure if it was a wart. After a while, it just stopped working. Then slowly, the ‘wart’ started to shrink on its own over a couple of weeks. Then BOOM, it came back with a vengeance and, so did a bunch of smaller ones, located on his face, neck and one on his back and ankle. After nearly a month of waiting to be seen by a dermatologist, we got ushered into an interestingly smal...

The Sneakiest Veggie Smoothie

Image
My children are always happy to eat, but as with most children,  if it’s the greenest piece of broccoli they have ever seen, it will be rejected. There is no secret that, as a mother, the essentials in my  freezer involve super sweet  strawberries,  mangos, pineapple, blueberries, bananas and whatever other fruits I conveniently buy frozen. I also love to cut up and freeze over-ripe fruits to use in smoothies.  Here comes the best part; the sneaky veggies. The fresh, never frozen sneaky veggies pair beautifully with sweet and creamy fruit. My children never know the difference. Here’s a great  Sneaky Veggie Smoothie Recipe  my children drink and ask for thirds. Sneaky veggie Smoothie: *2 ripe bananas *1 whole avocado (peeled and pitted) *6 – 8 large frozen strawberries *2 cups of loose spinach (washed) *1 cup of frozen mango chunks *1 cup of kale (washed and coarsely chopped) Place all ingredients in a full-size blender with 3 cups of cold...
